Who We Are

Wellfleet365 is dedicated to helping people make Wellfleet home, 365 days a year.

Wellfleet thrives in summer—but a vibrant community needs more than a season.

Wellfleet365 exists to strengthen our town's year-round economy and community – in short, to strengthen the fabric of the Wellfleet community all year long.

While our summer population brings welcome energy and economic activity, the foundation of any healthy town is the people who call it home throughout the year: the first responders, teachers and tradespeople, the shellfishers and artists, the healthcare workers and municipal employees, small business owners, and their staff, as well as retirees and older community members, who keep Wellfleet alive 365 days a year.

Today, that foundation of year-round residents is threatened. Soaring real estate values and the scarcity of year-round housing have made it nearly impossible for working people to afford to live here. Young families leave. Essential workers commute from all over the Cape—when we can find them at all. Only 34% of Town employees live in Wellfleet, and 47% commute 20+ miles to work from outside Wellfleet.

Our creative economy of writers and artists, our vital shellfish industry, and our local businesses all struggle to sustain themselves when housing costs price out the very people who make our community work.

The challenge we face isn't just about "affordable housing" in the traditional sense. Wellfleet needs a full spectrum of housing options—from entry-level rentals to workforce homeownership, from year-round apartments to homes for growing families—so that people across income levels and life stages can build their lives here. A teacher and a carpenter, a restaurant manager and a marine biologist, a recent graduate and an established artist should all be able to find a place in Wellfleet and build and maintaiun their lives here.

Wellfleet365 is committed to making this community a home, 365 days a year.

We are committed to strengthening the fabric of the Wellfleet Community throughout the year.
